Bossypants was one of the first memoirs I read by a female comedian. They are either becoming quite a popular book genre, or just one that I'm drawn to. After reading quite a few, it is easier to see which ones resonate with me for which reasons, and Bossypants is definitely a feel good memoir to inspire hard work.
Tina Fey discusses her youth and where her love of comedy and improv began, detailing all of her hard work until she finally made it to Saturday Night Live and her own show 30 Rock. It had a dry moment here and there, but they didn't take too much from the book overall, and there were still plenty of laughs along the way.
I'm a fan of Tina Fey's, so might be slightly biased towards this book, but even if you aren't super familiar with her work, it's a great source of motivation told from a comedic point of view, reinforcing the meaning of hard work and importance of fun!
