"He said that back then he didn't know that this was happiness."
Please Look After Mom, a piece of Korean literature, follows the perspectives of each member of a family after its mother goes missing.
I enjoyed that most of the book was written in second person, drawing me in from the first page. In saying this, the writing style did become confusing at some points, and I felt the need to read back to figure out who was speaking.
With this being the only misstep, the book had such a powerful message and it was heart-wrenching, soul-lifting and really, really good. I couldn't recommend it more!
