The Dreamer follows Molly, just your regular woman living and working in the city, who is struck by lightning, and as a result finds herself traveling to a parallel universe every time she falls asleep.
A psychological, contemporary fantasy unlike anything I have ever read before, and I am so impressed by E.J. Mellow's ability to tell such a complex story with what seems like such ease. I loved all of the characters and the imagery, allowing me to visualise the book like it was a movie, which made it such a deeper reading experience.
The Dreamer will make you want to fall asleep yourself, so just maybe you will wake up in another world for a while just like Molly did.
A happy-medium between chick-lit and fantasy, this is the first book of a trilogy, ending with a great cliffhanger, and leaving the reader wanting more.
