The Lab Rat Chronicles is a great read by neuroscientist, Kelly Lambert, describing the important lessons we have learnt (and are still learning) from studying rats and other rodents in laboratories and the wild.
While I found the book quite dry at times, and really had to push myself to get through it, Lambert used humour and allusions to place the information into the context of the audience, which made for an engaging read.
I'm not going to give this book a number rating as I find it difficult to do with a lot of non-fiction reads. But if you love science, the brain, psychology or just want to learn more about the ways in which we have used rats to help make scientific discoveries, then you should read this book!
