The Martian by Andy Weir

The Martian follows the story of Mark Watney, an astronaut who gets left behind on Mars by his crew and, as a result, his mission to stay alive and get back home.
I loved the different perspectives that Andy Weir provided in the book. It kept me on my toes for the most part. In saying this, I did find there was a big lull in the middle, and I lost interest. I think it was the technical language, which needed to be broken up a little more to keep me going for 350 pages - but once I got to the end it was worth it! It was one of those "don't talk to me until I finish this book" endings. I strongly advise you NOT to look up the ending or see the movie before reading, because the suspense was the best part!
Overall I absolutely loved this book. There were a few moments where I was pushing myself to get through it, but I really appreciate Andy Weir's writing and the amount of knowledge he needed to write this book.
