The moth: 50 extraordinary true stories edited by catherine burns
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
For those not familiar with The Moth, it's a podcast and series of live story telling nights where people from all walks of life share experiences from their past. This book is a compilation of some of the best ones, and they are absolutely fascinating.
The Moth contains stories written by authors, doctors, a chef, an astronaut, a professional poker player...the list goes on, and range from a doctor's work for Mother Theresa to a man simply trying to track down the Domino's Pizza employee who frauded his credit card.
I laughed, cried, took down notes and felt very, very inspired and humbled. I think the world would be a better place if we took time to sit down and listen to other people's stories, and this is a must-read for every single one of us.
