A Young Adult novel with an air of The Chronicles of Narnia meets Game of Thrones, Wildwood follows Prue and her friend Curtis on their expedition into the wilderness after her baby brother is abducted by a murder of crows. While they have been warned to never venture into the forest, they do anyway, and are surprised by an enchanted realm of talking animals and a power struggle between the multiple leaders of the woods.

This book was an exciting read, taking me back to when I was first read The Chronicles of Narnia. Full of illustrations throughout, I enjoyed the story and characters and was truly taken on a childhood adventure! In saying this, the book certainly fell flat in a few moments, and I feel an injection of more magic could have taken it to the next level.

For any fantasy readers, or someone looking for a bit of nostalgia, I do recommend Wildwood and will definitely be reading the sequel.
